Attention Drivers - You do not have to fundraise to take part in our HPDE’s. However, if you do so and you raise more than the buy-in amount listed on your registration, then you will drive for free! If you don’t fundraise, no worries and we will just bill your credit card that you entered at registration. The only other thing is that fundraising raises awareness, and normally more than the minimum by in, so if you are willing read on below to see how and why your efforts to fundraise are so appreciated!!
Why We Fundraise
Doctors confirm a new ALS diagnosis every 90 minutes and ALS claims another soul every 90 minutes.
ALS destroys a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and breathe.
ALS can impact anyone regardless of race, sex, or age.
Military personnel are twice as likely to develop ALS.
Post ALS diagnosis life expectancy is 2-5 years.
Doctors know as much about ALS today as they knew about cancer 100 years ago.
ALS is not an incurable disease, just an underfunded one! This is why we need YOUR help to raise funds and help bring about an end to ALS!!!
How You Can Help
You can help us advance the #ENDALS cause by fundraising with us to help advance research, fund our patient assistance programs and raise awareness.
100% of the proceeds raised by you for our events will go to Dave’s Triple Target Funding program that goes to benefit ALS-TDI's 24/7 research efforts, the Duke Neurology no placebo ROAR Trials, and our Patient Grant & Van programs.
Raising ALS Awareness comprises 50% of our mission. Your participation helps spread the word to those unfamiliar with the ravages of Lou Gehrig’s Disease in both its inherited and sporadic forms.
Building Your Fundraising Website
This year, we are powered by Mighty Cause, a fully automated fund collection site that outperforms the manual backend accounting processes of years past. Special points of interest -
Non-Drivers - Even if you’re not driving in an event, you can still set up a fundraising page to help the cause either via a race page or via our general fund-raising page. Set up your own personal page or share the previous link to others for general donations.
Race Specific Fundraising - Click the corresponding race logo to go to the Mighty Cause site for that race and build your fundraising page.
Custom/Sharable URL - Click the settings button on the side of the Mighty Cause page to generate a sharable, custom URL for your page to broadcast via email or social media.
Top Fundraising Prize - Racing For ALS will award the top fundraiser for each event with The Trammell, in honor of QUAD consecutive top fundraiser and Racing For ALS friend, Andrew Trammell.
Team Set Up - Set up the team first, then click the Join the Team option to set up an individual page that will then roll up into that team.
