Dale

This is our 2019 Hendrick Motorsports Track Attack Camaro ZL1 driven by Dave’s brother Scott. This car car has been so much fun and we love flying the Racing for ALS logo around the track on her hood! The car has the number 324 as a tribute to Scott’s NASCAR hero Dale Earnhardt Sr. #DoItForDale and Dave’s NASCAR hero Jeff Gordon.

This car was raced by Kasey Kahne, Chase Elliot and William Byron over several seasons, with it’s last race in 2018 that brought a 12th place finish for Byron at Watkins Glen (Was Byron’s back up car for 2019). We are grateful to drive this car in the #EndALS fight!!

Nightrain

Nightrain is another 2018 Camaro ZL1-1LE, driven by Andrew Trammell (and often Adam Boatman), one of our RFALS partners at Carolina’s HME. This car was never intended to go on track, until he and his friend Adam got to talking. Long story short, Andrew & Adam met us at their first SCCA event ultimately leading to Adam selling us our Hendrick Motorsports Track Attack car #Dale. Adam set the lap record in Nightrain at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, that so far is still holding. Nightrain is on a mission to raise awareness and find a cure to #EndALS.

“Meeting the Lloyd brothers on that windy day in CLT my first time out was no coincidence. They were super friendly, very welcoming and turns out we had a whole lot in common, except for one thing. I did not know Dave had ALS that day. Later learning about Dave’s condition and the work they’d done with RFALS, I was instantly inspired to join the fight. They are just awesome people. Nobody should have to battle ALS, and we’ll keep fighting until there’s a cure.” - Andrew

Godzpeed

This is the car that started it all in February of 2018, just a few months after Dave’s diagnosis. This car was truly a divine gift from God, and a story we love to tell, just ask us at he track and we would be happy to tell you about the day we met her at Hendrick Chevrolet Cary. The car is a 2015 Z28 and has a Hennessey HPE-650 engine upgrade. When we met her, she only had 846 miles despite being 3 years old! This car loves the track, but Scott retired the car from track racing as it just has to much sentimental value. So now she is our cruiser!

Shadow Deux

Dave drove this 2019 Camaro ZL1-1LE to a Second Place U1 Class finish during SCCA Regional Time Trials at Carolina Motorsports Park. This car represents another miracle along our journey, as Dave’s ALS progression suddenly necessitated an automatic trans. A divinely timed call to Hendrick Chevrolet Cary from a track day in Kershaw landed us 1 of only 2 presold 10A ZL1-1LE Camaros available in NC when its original buyer snapped up a ZR1 on delivery day instead.

“I met Dave and Scott Lloyd at a track day when Dave was still able to enjoy driving on the track.  We celebrated together when David won 2nd place in his first SCCA Time Trial.  He’s an inspiration with his positive attitude and with your help we can #EndALS.” – Scott Weatherford

ShadowZ

Shadow Z was Dave’s track beast for 2018 and the beginning of 2019, until the progression of his ALS impacted his ability to shift the car so greatly, that after a Track Night event on May 10th at CMP we moved him to Shadow Deux that he used in the SCCA time trials 10 days later (We got a proper break in on her before racing!). This 2015 Z28 had a Hennessey HPE-650 engine upgrade and absolutely screamed! Shadow Z found a new home recently, is now named Top Gunn and works to help the Carolina Cruise 4 Kids team raise money for charity there!

Rob “Faster Skunk” WilmothRob is a great guy and a lover of all things octane, speed and Audis! We met Rob a few years ago doing HPDEs, and he has become a good friend and someone passionate about the #endals cause; did we mention that he drives an Audi? Rob is a great person, an amazing driver who really helped us fill the field for Dave’s Race 3, and has helped us raise much needed funds for ALS research as a title sponsor of Dave’s Race 3 via his trackside assistance and coaching company “Faster Skunk” ….And did we say that he is the only Audi in our sea of Camaro’s?!
